Police Releases Magu the EFCC Suspended Charmain

Mr Magu's legal counselor Toyin Ojaomo affirmed that the suspended EFCC manager is no longer in imprisonment.


Prior on Wednesday, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, asked Magu, to guide his bail application to the presidential board.


Mr Oluwatosin Ojaomo, Magu's lawful delegate, had requested that the IGP grant bail to his customer on "self-recognizance" — after the suspended EFCC chairman has been in custody for the past four days.


However, in a letter dated July 14, 2020, and routed to Mr Ojaomo, the IGP said the police force isn't investigating and confining Magu, along these lines, it can't allow the bail demand.



It likewise exhorted the legal advisor to divert his solicitation to the executive of the presidential board for suitable consideration.

Mr Magu was welcomed by the board headed by Ayo Salami, a resigned President of the Appeal Court in the Presidential Villa in Abuja on July 6.


He was later moved to Area 10 Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) of the police in Abuja where he has since been kept.


On June 11, President Muhammadu Buhari asserted the suspension of Mr Magu and it produced results right away.


The Presidency additionally said that the individuals who consider this to be as a sign that the fight against corruption is waning, have failed in seeing the point.
