FG Places Ban On Vehicle Purchase To Minimize Excessive Economic Spending

With the approval of the N2.3 trillion Nigeria Economic Sustainability Plan on Wednesday by the Federal Executive Council, the federal government of Nigeria has ended the non-critical and administrative capital spending, which includes also the purchase of vehicles.

This was disclosed by Femi Adesina the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity in a document themed 'What you need to know about the Nigeria Economic Sustainability Plan' which was made available on Thursday to the Abuja journalists.
This plan was established by the president, Muhammadu Buhari and developed by the Economic Sustainability committee, headed by Vice President, Yemi Osinbanjo on the 30th of march, 2020.

The initiative is said to help the nation's economy during this challenging phase of the COVID-19 pandemic and as a way of to minimize excessive or unnecessary spending, Adeshina said only ambulance, emergency and fire-fighting vehicles, with other essential vehicles are exempted from the ban that has been place on vehicle purchasing.
